Hard Drive Catastrophe!

*sighs softly as she stumbles into the room, plopping herself down in the large chair that sat in the middle of the room*

"Hello one and all! I know it has been a while since my latest activity and for that I greatly apologize... I had decided to take a small break from creating new items in order to save my sanity. For you see, I had been working so hard since early October to actually get the store itself off the ground! After a nice success of getting the items out and people responding rather positively towards everything that had been offered I decided that I would simply sit back for a bit and allow things to at least coast while my brain tried to reboot itself. However, the issue with this is that it was not my brain that would end up needing to be rebooted...Instead it seems that my desktop has decided that it can no longer handle the tremendous responsibility of creating lovely new items for the masses. The strain of creativity has apparently weighed very heavily upon my computer's hard drive and thusly caused it to give in to peer pressure and well...die...very damn slowly."

*She then looks towards the computer in question and gives it a rather forlorn look before continuing on*

"So...since early this morning I have been working like a fiend to grab every single file that I can before my computer finally expires. I only have a small flash drive so the process has been well...tedious. However, you will all be glad to know that I have for the most part collected all the important files that pertain to the store! So nothing major will be lost! Yet, I have decided to take this opportunity to actually rework a few parts of the store. Since October the store has offered over 9 different colors as well as a few different fabric options...The different colors were just something that I created on a whim mind you. I really was not sure what colors would really interest people at the time so I just made a random bunch to see what would sell and what wouldn't. So...you might be wondering what this means? Well this means I will most likely be discontinuing some of the old colors that did not really sell and keep working with the ones that have had the most appeal to everyone. I will be also working on some new fabric choices and perhaps trying to work it so that the dresses now come with a hud that will allow everyone to change the colors of the outfits as well as fabric choices! This will take me some time to do...however, I assure you it will be worth it! So keep your eyes peeled folks! I am working working and well...working to bring you some lovely new items! Please be patient with me! "

Thanks again!

*As you open the door, your fingers turning the knob ever so gently. You soon open the door and pass the threshold to enter the single room that has been locked for so long...Why it is now that you have found the key is unsure. However, it seems that the time was indeed right for the adventure to start! For the moment you take a step further into the room, the gas lights that adorn the walls flicker to life revealing the space in which you now dwell. The walls are faded, the paper peels and paint chips...and all that decorates the room is a single table that sits directly in the center. Upon the table rests an old phonograph that shows to be covered in dust and cobwebs, upon the disk rests a single card that has a simple statement scrawled upon the surface "Play Me.". A simple message with perhaps just a bit of an ominous tone attached to it, yet something in the back of your mind compels you to turn the crank and lower the needle to the now spinning record. The adventure starts now...welcome to our world!*

"Hello? Hello!?...."

*tapping upon a microphone can be heard*

"Is this thing on!?"

*muffled voices can be heard for a moment*

"Oh! Well why didn't you bloody say so!?...Ahem! Hello! Hello! And welcome to the first official transmission of the "Steam Mouse Diaries"! Now, I am sure by now you are wondering just why in the heck does one need such theatrics to start off a blog!? Well...I will tell you! First and foremost I am a roleplayer and for me this is as normal as breathing. For me... What you are reading is not just an extension of my store, but also an extension of myself and my characters!"

*Papers can be heard shuffling about for a moment or two*

"You know...to be honest, I had a really nice and rather elaborate speech written out to explain myself and the store...but oh well, I am just going to speak form the heart and make this up as I go along! So there! So what I am going to do is write down some questions that have been asked and I will do my best to answer them! So enjoy and I hope this gives you a better idea of what my store is all about!"

~Questions~

1.) Your store's prices are so cheap! Why is this?

This is actually a very good question with a very good answer! The reason my store is so cheap is because...Honestly? I am a shopaholic! I love to just travel from store to store and see what bits and bobs I can find. However, the major issue I always had was that by the time I would buy one thing from one store, half my money would be gone! I understand that people put forth great work and effort into their items, but that dosent mean we have to charge an arm and a leg for quality items...I want people to be able to afford my things and be able to walk away with one or two dresses and not feel like they just broke their entire savings just to get a hold of something.

2.) What is your basic pricing structure?

Another good questions, but this one is very simple so here we go!

Regular Items (Dresses, Tops, Pants, etc.) - 75L
Footwear - 55L
Complete Outfits - 95L
Accessories - 25 - 55L
Skins - T.B.A.

3.) Do you do custom work?

Actually...YES! I will be starting to do custom work soon. So while I am thinking about it, lets go over the rules and prices!
The rules are simple, I reserve the right to sell at least five copies of any custom creation unless an additional fee is paid to keep it from seeing the light of day!

~Pricing for custom work~
Base mesh cost (Only applied if I do not already own the mesh you want me to work with)
Price of item desired (See above listings for item price points)
"L" needed for texture(s) upload
Additional 100L if you do not want any copies to be sold

4.) How often do you release items?

Well, to be honest...I do not have a release schedule at all. I would honestly like to say that I will try to release a few items each month, but it is really hard to say what will be released since my life takes me in so many directions. So all i can say is just bare with me and keep a look out on the blogs and of course in world because I try to send out updates of anything that I do.

5.) So why do I have to pay 50L to join the "Barathrum Fashion Group"?

Welp, the reason you have to pay is because by joining that group I am literally giving you 15% off of every single in-world purchase you make and since everything is so cheap already, and well, you see where I am going with this? Not to mention all my lucky boards are kept group only so all group members will get access to free things if they have the patience to sit around and try their luck!

6.) Is it ok if I talk to you?

YES! Yes! and more yes! Do NOT be shy...Please, if you see me in the store then feel free to shoot me a message! I love to meet new people and make new friends, so please do not be shy...Just be patient with me because I am always working on something so I may be slow to respond at times!

7.) I am a blogger, photographer, model, etc. Is there anything I can do to help?

Well, depending on what you are doing...I would love help! Please feel free to contact me and see what we can work out!

8.) How often will you be updating your blogs and flickr?

No idea...I have the attention span of a well...mouse! So I tend to scurry from one thing to the next, trying to keep up with my over active imagination! However, I can say that I will try my best to keep this updated as much as possible! So just bare with me...and if you dont hear from me in a long time... Call Scotland Yard because I have gone missing!

*The record starts to crackle as the transmission seems to slowly coming to an end*

"Whew...That was rather long and I dare say that I am a tad bushed from all that! I do hope this helped you understand a little bit more about the store and the way I work! As always, I would like to thank anyone who has taken interest in my store thus far and has offered help or words of encouragement! I cannot do it without any of you!"

*The needle is nearing the end of the record*

"Eep! Running out of bloody time! Ok...Time for me to scurry off! So remember my friends "In Steam we trust!"...Oh and this record will self destruct in ten seconds after the ending of this transmission..."

*Why you are still standing in the room after the final statement is a mystery...but now you are covered in dust and soot as the record player has already exploded...have a lovely day!*
